One British diver involved directly helping the victims of Thailand’s cave to criticize Elon Musk and his homemade submarine. He considered what one of the richest people in the world was doing for publicity.
Vern Unsworth, the diver, declared a mini submarine brought by Elon Musk’s team to Thailand will not be able to help the rescue effort. Why?
“The submarine is rigid so it will not get through the corners or other obstacles,” said Vern as quoted from the Telegraph.
“In fact he will not be able to get through the first 50 meters in the cave from the starting point of the dive, just PR stunnt,” Vern snapped.
Vern mentions Musk really came to the cave. But he was asked to leave because it was not much help.
Not only did Vern argue that way. The head of the rescue mission, Narongsak Osotthanakom, said the Musk submarine was not practical to solve the case despite using sophisticated technology.
Elon did come alone to Thailand to deliver the submarine. “I hope this submarine will be useful, otherwise it might be useful in future situations,” said the man born in 1971.
His criticism made Musk feel disappointed and insisted he was just trying to help. “We were asked to make a back up option and work hard to do it, coordinate with the diver team to confirm what is worth making, now the goods are there for anyone in need in the future,” he said.
